Thank you for your interest in the Alliance for Consumer Education’s Strike Out Inhalant Abuse Super Hero Contest!  The Trenton Thunder, Bowie Baysox, & New Britain Rock Cats are teaming up with local School Counselor Associations to raise awareness about the dangers of inhalant abuse.  Each team will conclude its efforts with a “Strike Out Inhalant Abuse” game night at their respective ball parks:

 Now it’s time for you to get in the game!  You can do your part by designing a superhero that fights against Inhalant Abuse. Your illustration can be in pencil, crayon, even done on the computer, as long as we can clearly see what your superhero looks like! In addition to your picture, please include advice from the superhero on why kids should not abuse inhalants in 50 words or less.  Please read below for more information:

Your local, Double-A Minor League Baseball Team and The Alliance for Consumer Education (ACE) are reaching out to your school and community to raise awareness about Inhalant Abuse Prevention in an effort to keep you safe. Now it’s your turn to keep your community safe by designing a superhero!
NOW through Friday, June 26, 2009.

ALL ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE:

  • An illustration (no bigger than 11 x 14in.)
  • 50 words or less
  • Designer’s name, age and school
  • A guardian’s name and email or phone number

PRIZES:  There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners. They will have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch, meet the baseball players, and/or have their winning entry displayed in the ballpark during the game!

HOW TO ENTER:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter have your guardian(s) send your entry to the Alliance for Consumer
Education (ACE) in one of the following ways:

  • Mail your picture and words to ACE, 900 17th Street NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20006. (Make sure to include name, age and school on back of entry form).

To be eligible, entries must be postmarked or received on or by Friday, June 26, 2009. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. All entries shall become the property of the Alliance for Consumer Education (ACE). ACE is not responsible for lost, misdirected or delayed entries.

CONTEST RULES:

  1. The contes t is open to Connecticut, Maryland, and New Jersey residents only.

  2. Decisions of the contest judges are final - no substitutions will be available.

  3. The winners authorize the use, without additional compensation of his or her name and/or likeness for promotion purposes in any manner and in any medium which the Alliance for Consumer Education and the Trenton Thunder, Bowie Baysox, & New Britain Rock Cats may deem appropriate. Any applicable copyrights will be held by ACE and the Teams aforementioned.
